Marketing communications and business development strategies for women entrepreneurs

You’ve built real expertise. But marketing yourself often feels harder than it should.

When you’re close to your work, it can be difficult to see your value clearly or communicate it in a simple, compelling way. And when you are the brand, everything feels more personal and high stakes.

You might second guess your message, default to trendy tactics that don’t match your goals, or hold back because you don’t have the time—missing opportunities that should be yours.

But there’s good news: Your expertise is your strongest marketing asset. You just need a clear story, a focused strategy, and the right support.

Laura Garofalo is a business partner to women entrepreneurs — helping you own your narrative, visibility, and growth.

Hi, I’m Laura Garofalo—a growth strategist and business partner to women entrepreneurs.

I grew up in PR agencies, working at the intersection of marketing, communications, content, and business development, helping companies and leaders tell stories that fuel growth. I learned how attention is earned, narratives shape perception, and reputations drive revenue.

Now I bring that experience to the people who need it most: women entrepreneurs. Women own more than 40% of businesses in the U.S. and are launching companies faster than ever—often without access to the strategic marketing and business development knowledge I’ve spent my career building. Sharing my expertise with other women entrepreneurs brings me great joy and a strong sense of purpose.

My goal is simple: to help you get clear on what to say, confident about where to show up, and intentional about how you grow.

Who I work with

Many of the women I work with have built strong reputations over years, sometimes decades. You’ve earned credibility, developed deep expertise, and driven real results. Now you’re ready to step into the spotlight, expand your reach, and grow your business in a way that feels authentic and intentional.

You’re leaving corporate or a clinical setting to build your own practice

You have the skills and the respect—but going solo means marketing yourself, and that can feel vulnerable. I turn your expertise into a personal brand that attracts the right attention, opportunities, and clients.

You're entering a new professional chapter

You might be changing directions, but your past experience matters more than you realize. I connect the dots and shape a story that communicates your reinvention while building a digital presence that reflects where you’re headed.

You're growing what you already started

Your business is working, but you’re ready for greater visibility, more qualified clients, and more intentional growth. I help you sharpen your positioning and develop a strategy that supports both short-term wins and long-term success.

You're a serial entrepreneur ready to elevate your personal brand

You built multiple businesses and brands but your narrative is fragmented. I find the throughline —turning your multifaceted background into a thought leadership platform that positions you for speaking engagements, media opportunities, and other opportunities that provide industry visibility.

I clarify who you're for, what problems you solve, and how to talk about your work in a way that builds trust. Then turn that into an actionable plan — so you know exactly where to focus, how to show up, and what it takes to create momentum.

What I do

01 Get clear on “Why YOU, now?

Most people focus on explaining what they do and how they do it, but if you're starting or growing a business, you also need to define your why—because your value goes beyond your offer. It’s the unique combination of skills and knowledge only you bring. This isn’t just about your existence in the market; it’s about why your expertise matters in this exact moment. When you can answer “why you, right now,” your positioning becomes clearer, your story stays relevant, and you meet the marketing moment.

02 Be known for your expertise

What do you notice that others miss? Spotting nuance is what shapes insights that build credibility. These insights are not just proof of your expertise, they are the foundation of a strong content program. This is what you draw on across everything you create, from social posts to videos to talking points for speaking engagements and media interviews. When your content reflects a clear point of view shaped by experience, people begin to trust your perspective, and turn to you as an authority in your space.

03 Reach a wider audience

I don’t just look at how your channels are performing or where leads come from—I take the time to understand how they work together to create clear pathways that help the right people find you and move toward working with you. I call these “tracks.” They connect your digital presence into a simple, cohesive brand experience so people can understand you and take the next step. And if you’re stuck communicating only to your existing network, there are practical strategies to help you expand and reach new, relevant audiences.
